Here is the second slightly less alpha episode of East Meets West podcast.

Week 12: Over 42: Atlanta and Detroit

First off, Happy Turkey Day to y’all. I’ll be offering two picks this week, the second one will come a little later in the week. To me, there’s nothing better than waking up on a Thursday morning, not having to work, and watching football while a bird is cooking in the oven. Much like Dallas and Detroit play every Thanksgiving, I love having action on the morning game — it’s my tradition. I like the over in morning game. Both Atlanta and Detroit have had some problems stopping teams of late, and the both have the ability to put up some points. Let’s hope for a 21-21 tie, and we’ve got a winner. I’ll be back later this week with a pick for Sunday’s action. Good luck!!!

Week 11: Cincinnati Bengals (+5.5)

In hopes to rebound from losing the last two out of
three weeks, I’ve decided to pick the most unlikely
team this week. Yes, that’s not a typo, I’m taking the
Bengals. I know Indy is undefeated, I know the Colts
are destroying opponents, but there’s something about
Cincy that I like. The Bengals are at home this week
and the have suffered only one loss at Paul Brown
Stadium, and that was against Pittsburgh. The Bengals
are looking to make a statement this week — if they
knock Indy from the unbeaten perch, Cincinnati will be
the Bungles no more. It should be a good game, and
could very well end up going to OT or a late field
could decide the outcome. I predict Cincy wins this
one and the Colts get their revenge when these squads
meet again in the playoffs. No, I’m not smoking crack!

Week 10: New York Giants (-9.5)

The Giants are on a roll right now destroying their
last two opponents by a combined score of 60-6. While
many may say something has to give, I don’t think this
is the week it’s going to happen. Fortunately for the
G-men, the Vikings are coming to town. Minnesota is
horrendous on the road and with Moss gone, Moore
questionable for the start, and Culpepper done for the
year, the Vikes are turning to Brad Johnson to right
this ship. Yeah, my thoughts exactly. The Vikings will
show up, but Eli, Tiki, and a tough Giants defense
should have their way with the Purple People Eaters
this week. Look for the Giants to score through the
air, on the ground, and for the defense to put the
offense in good field position most of the game. I
know the line is big, but I think the Giants can cover
this one.

Week 9: Chicago Bears (-3)

Truth be told, I’m not crazy about any of the games this week. However, something keeps telling me Chicago. Thomas Jones appears to be healthy and close to full strength for this week’s game. If that’s the case, it will enable the Bears to have a balanced attack. Da Bears have only won one game so far on the road, but I think the “every game’s a road game” schedule for New Orleans is starting to take its toll on the Saints. They’ve lost four in a row, they’re up against one of the toughest defenses in the league, and they’re looking ahead to a bye week. Translation: The Bears are poised to go in to Baton Rouge and steal this one.

Teaser of the week

The requests keep pouring in — and I’m not one that likes to disappoint, so back by popular demand — I’m giving y’all a free teaser this week. Jacksonville and New England. The Jags are a 13.5 point favorite against the Texans and while Jacksonville has a great chance to cover the original line, it’s hard not to take them minus the 7.5. Houston got the monkey off their back last week and should return to their losing ways. As for New England, how do you pass up on a Monday night home dog? Peyton still hasn’t beaten this club on a big stage and even if the Colts time has come to finally win one at Gillette, it sure as hell won’t be by the 9.5 you can tease the line to. Mr. Roberts made sure the two young men were on the elevator and well out of earshot.

“Who were those two dissolute young men again?”

“Oh Dick that’s your cousin Richard. The other one’s named Patch. Anthony I think if I remember right.”

“Oh yes yes yes I know Richard of course. I just mean to say I hardly recognise him. And I daresay I wouldn’t want them encouraging Gloria in her already straying ways if I thought it’d do a damned bit of good.”

“Why won’t you let her be.”

“I would if I thought she could pull herself out of it. But she’s become so distant and unattainable lately. I find it highly annoying.”

Well I expect those two were only here to see Gloria so I imagine we’ll see them again. They dson’t give up so easy ewhen they start nosing around after her.”

“No no no no they don’t my dear. But you know all her gallavanting leaves more time for us,” winked Mr. Roberts.

“True true my boo boo,” winked Mrs. Roberts back.

And they very composedly went hand in hand back into the back bedroom far far away from the door.

Week 8: Jacksonville Jaguars (-3)

In a week ladened with huge lines, I’m going to pick a game that has a better chance of covering the spread. Jacksonville has been impressive this season and has done well on the road thus far. The Jags only loss on the road this season came to the undefeated Colts. The Rams are hurting — Bulger, Holt, and Bruce look to be sidelined for the game, which means the Jags D should be able to take advantage an inexperienced offense. Byron Leftwich and the gang should be able to light it up and the Jacksonville defensive squad ought to keep the Rams scoring to a minimum. If this game was in Jacksonville, the line would be at least 8.5. Good luck this week!!

I would demand new business conditions but that would mean talking to people. My fundamental complaint is that mass markets are unfair to people who hate people. The only way for me to turn my great ideas into money-making is to have them publicised and then loved by lots of people.

But I don’t want that.

I want to have great ideas, execute them and have them make me money. But I don’t want people to have to like them. I don’t want people to have to find them brilliant. That’s why I introduce to you Web 3.0.

In Web 3.0 all you have to do is post something on the web, anything, and it will generate cash flow. I am looking for business capital to get this idea rolling.

In Web 3.0 misanthropes rule. You don’t have to network. You don’t have to discuss. You don’t have to have ties to some self-indulgent pretentious ‘community’ or other. You are your community. And that’s all you need. And all others will just leave you alone thank you very much.

Web 3.0 will be built on cross-platofrm isolated synergie. It will use the power of millions of antisocial individuals to create a new economy of separation. Unlike the wisdom of the crowds, the driver of this economy will not be mass movement but leveraged isolationism. Technology will assume the interactions that we have heretofore left in the hands of humanity. Instead each content creator publishes and Web 3.0 makes sure the content is distributed and compensated for.
