I've
been racking my brain trying to figure out a case mod that will shock
the mod community. I finally gave up and resorted to my backup plan: I
decided to put an ant farm in my PC case. Learn more about my creation
on today's show.
Huh? Did you say ant farm?
I
did. Where did I get this idea? I have no idea. I've loved ant farms
since I was a young lad. I thought this would be a great opportunity to
bring them back into the popular culture, but with a digital twist.
Ants don't eat a whole lot and don't mind hot temperatures. They're perfect for my XP 2200+ PC.
On the farm
Here's what I used to put together my ant farm PC:
- One Uncle Milton's Giant Ant Farm.
- One window cut into my PC case. Yoshi has some great instructions on how to cut a case window. You can also use a case with a precut window.
- One large piece of 1/8-inch clear plastic. I got mine at the local TAP Plastics.
- One saw to cut the plastic.
- Nontoxic adhesive.
Construction
Constructing
the farm is easy. Simply duplicate the layout of the farm inside the
window of your computer case. Once you've duplicated the layout, cut
the plastic to match. Then use the glue to attach the farm to the
window.
